RESOURCED MATERIALS
Minchem HMP Ltd is able to source many types of raw materials, from all over the world, for a wide variety of products, for our clients.
Due to our technical expertise and our knowledge of this sector we have been able to build up strong working relationships to ensure all materials sourced meet customer requirements
Nepheline Syanite
Nepheline Syanite is a naturally occurring, silica deficient sodium-potassium alumina silicate. The higher total alumina and alkali contribution available from nepheline syanite produces ceramic ware with greater impact and flexible strength and improved resistance to the stresses of thermal extremes and mechanical shock.
Uses: Ceramic wear and body compositions which mature at low temperatures.
Molochite is a hard abrasion resistant alumino silicate, with excellent resistance to thermal shock properties
Uses: Production of ceramic and investment casting shells for hot metal casting.
Tabular Alumina
Tabular Alumina is used in unshaped and shaped high performance refractories, used in a variety of industries, steel, foundry, cement, glass, petrochemical, ceramic and waste incineration. Other common non-refractory applications include its use in kiln furniture and for metal filtration. It is a well-sintered, crystalline alpha alumina, known for its dense properties.
Fluorspar is the commercial name for the mineral Florite, (calcium Fluoride, CaF2), which, when pure, consists of 51.1% Calcium and 48.9% Fluorine. Commercial fluorspar is graded according to quality and specification into acid-grade, metallurgical grade and ceramic grade.
Uses: Investment casting facecoats, glass and ceramic colourants and pigments
A reclaimed recycled material which can be a substitute for zircon in some refractory products
Basalt Tiles
This is a high density ceramic alumina tile, with very high hardness making it highly abrasion resistant in the most difficult and critical operating conditions. It also shows an excellent chemical resistance to acids, to chemical agents in general and to oxidation.
